However, we must be wary of establishments that exploit wild animals for human entertainment. This type of practice, common in circuses and animal shows, often involves the use of cruel techniques such as confinement and forced training of animals. These activities not only violate animal welfare but also perpetuate a culture of exploitation that must be combated.

It is crucial to recognize that animals have specific physical and behavioral needs that must be respected. Providing opportunities for animals to express their natural behaviors is essential for their well-being and mental health. For example, when visiting national parks or protected areas, tourists have the chance to observe animals in their natural habitat, exhibiting natural behaviors and contributing to wildlife conservation.

If an attraction offers you the opportunity to pet a sloth, hold a snake, take a selfie with a tiger, ride elephants, interact with dolphins, or things like that, it's very likely that this attraction is not very animal-friendly at all.

Before spending your money and risking funding animal exploitation, research the places you intend to visit.

If a friend invites you to swim with dolphins or take a selfie with a tiger, refuse. Explain why, show them how cruel that is. Perhaps they've never thought about it. Don't judge, raise awareness.

On the other hand, pet-friendly tourism promotes a positive integration of pets into society. When we refer to dogs and cats, which are domesticated animals that have lived with us for over 14,000 years, their natural behaviors include living with humans. By allowing owners to travel with their pets, this practice strengthens the emotional bonds between humans and animals, promoting a culture of care and respect for our furry companions.

The more people interact with loved and well-cared-for domestic animals, the more natural it becomes; it's a cultural matter. When people have closer contact with animals, they come to understand them better, and we respect what we know, we love what we know.
