He began his activities in canoeing in 2000, as a national referee, Olympic and Paralympic referee, and organizer of canoeing sporting events (state, national and international competitions).

Guilherme is the president of FECAESP (São Paulo State Canoeing Federation), a columnist specializing in canoeing sports tourism, coordinator of the São Paulo State Kayak Polo canoeing school project, which was the subject of his undergraduate thesis in administration, and he also develops projects, clinics, and refereeing courses.
